T-Shirts into Rompers
I took a romper that fit Toby already, and outlined it on the shirt. I sewed that together and cut out the legs part. I lined the ends and sewed on Velcro. That's about it!
Would I do this project again? Maybe. It was fun the figuring out the best way to sew the sides and the legs. I also had to sew in the neck hole - it was too big of an opening.
But it only saved us about 6 dollars if I had bought 3 rompers. It's only worth doing if you can find t-shirts for a dollar each.

Camping at Redfish Lake, Idaho-
We played lots of games and even canoed around the lake to a secluded beach.
Toby enjoyed meeting everyone.
It was just above freezing at nights! And the lake wasn't much warmer, either. A mist would drift over the lake in the mornings and it was beautiful.
Toby liked playing at the shore but he got cold fast. We tried the paddle boats and Toby hated it! I think he hated wearing the life jacket.
I had a lot of fun but I'm glad to be home. I was getting tired of the mosquitoes attacking my ankles. And the shower I had right after we got home felt so good!

Nine Months
We went to Wheeler Farm with my niece Gina and her new baby Trinity. Doesn't Toby look like one of the Olsen twins in this picture? I think so

Toby will probably be mortified by this picture when he's older! He wouldn't leave my feet alone one evening, so I asked Greg to give me the camera. I can't believe Greg did! Toby gets an idea in his head and he goes and does it.

Toby had a lot of fun this last month. I've been walking everywhere with Toby; to the library, Walmart, Smith's, Kid to Kid, and I even jog with him. And Toby seems to like it. Toby loves going to Linda and Marlan's house and he even acts better there. (he saves his whines and fussiness for home!)
Another Day with Toby
Yesterday I was walking Toby to Smith's and at the first intersection I had the option of crossing to the other side of the street early. In fact, the light turned green just as we got up to the corner. But I didn't cross. I decided to wait and cross at the next intersection. I don't know why I decided that.
As I continued down the sidewalk, I heard a popping noise. I looked over and saw that a truck had hit the car in front of it and the car's trunk had flown open. I saw the car pull over to the side, seemingly to stop and report the accident. But the car kept going; jumping the sidewalk, hitting a bush, and plowing through a wooden fence before finally stopping. Later on I was telling Greg about the accident and I realized that if I had crossed the street before, Toby and I could have been right in the path of that car.
It overwhelms me to think of all the countless ways Toby could get hurt. But I can't think of the accident in that way. I think the Lord helped us escape possible injury and I'm so grateful for that. We were given another day with Toby, happy and safe...

Took Me Awhile...
They used to be a natural light wood and I'm not a fan of that color wood. I like dark cherry wood. But since stripping the pieces then staining would have been a ton of work, I went with black!
Greg loves how the rock table turned out, and he's fine with the kitchen table. I covered the top with 3 coats of polyurethane so hopefully the paint doesn't get scratched up, but I can just paint the top again.
What do you think? I wish I had taken before photos to show you...
