Pioneer Day at Flaming Gorge

Well, the two pictures above are of the Flaming Gorge Dam. We took the tour that led us right along the dam's top edge (top photo), and then an elevator took us right down to the river below (bottom photo).I like this photo of the bridge we crossed right before entering Flaming Gorge.You should really check out Greg's neat pics on his blog, www.gregmplatt.blogspot.com and check out the amazing photos he took (besides me! j/k)Here's me - I really thought I had a smile on my face! Instead I look irritated. I really wasn't, I swear! :) Little (but steep!) hike we took to get closer to the river.

And that's all! We left for home early so I can get back to reading Harry Potter (and because we were hot and tired!). I'm on chapter twenty of Harry Potter and Greg has finished. He's finding it hard not to discuss it with me, so I better get going on finishing it. Very exciting!

Well...I did it...

I read the entire book this weekend. Finished about 7:30 Sunday night.

Great book. Did not disappoint they way that the final book of the Series of Unfortunate events did.

I still have that burning question...

which I will save to ask later.

I've never done it before

I've never gone out on the first day or the first showing of anything and been at the "first" anything, really. But, last night, after reading scriptures, Ilene and I went to Walmart. We got there about 10 minutes after midnight, picked up a few groceries...hot dog buns, pickles, cereal...and then we marched over to the two palates of books that had been placed there and picked up our copy of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

When we got home, Ilene was pretty tired, so while she went to bed I started reading. As it stands, by 11:00 this morning I have read the first 10 chapters of the book. Ilene's reading now. I intend to finish it off by the end of the weekend...so none of you can ruin it for me!!!!!!!

I am now around 6 months pregnant, and surprisingly getting a little excited for our boy to come!

"Dance With Me"

Greg and I are going to be celebrating our 2nd anniversary on August 2, 2007!

It feels like I've known Greg longer than that, and our time together just flies by.

For this anniversary, I decided to try and paint for Greg a copy of his favorite artist, Jack Vettriano's painting called "Dance Me to the End of Love" (I think that's the title).

I changed a few things, put me and Greg in the painting, and here it is!

I call it "Dance with Me". It took me about 2 weeks to do, and I bought the frame from Deseret Industries.

Toby Wall Art-

As you can probably tell, I have a lot of time at my disposal. :) I don't have a job (and I won't be getting one, if we can help it) so I spend my days doing chores, making lunches and dinners for me and Greg, exercising, running errands, paying bills....... and pursuing my hobbies.

My current hobbies are sewing, painting, and crafts.

Well, this week I wanted to make something for over Toby's crib, so I came up with this! Pretty easy to make - I found a font I liked on Word, I cut out the letters on foam board, painted and glued them together, then made outlines of my own hand and foot, cut and painted them, then stuck everything up on the wall with paperclips!

If you think that's neat, you should see my next project! It's going to be good. :) I'll post it as soon as I finish it...

All Dressed Up for Church :)

Here is my latest sewing project!

I got this idea in my head that it would be cute to sew little ties onto onesies. What do you think?

I used scraps of fabric on all but the red one, which was cut from a piece of cloth ribbon. I preshrunk the onesies and fabric, but I haven't yet tested whether the colors will bleed. Let's hope not!

Now our Toby can be all dressed up for church with his onesie with tie, and a pair of pants. :)

...And we have a winner...

So we were going to go with North Gregory Platt for our baby's name, but almost everyone we talked to about it, said that North was too strange of a name. We liked the name of course, but I didn't want someone snickering at my baby boy's name.

I got another baby name book from the library and we went through all the boy names in it. We found a few possibilities, like Reagan (I think that's a good name for a boy or a girl), but one name kept coming back into our minds:

Tobias - believing God is good

And we have a winner! Our baby boy's name will be Tobias Gregory Platt, and we will call him Toby. We like the fact that it is not a common and trendy name like say, Ethan, and the fact that it is not so strange as North. Hopefully our Toby will like it too! However, Toby's nickname is still Bean. He's stuck with that nickname for now!

It's a boy!

Yep, that's our baby boy's side profile in the ultrasound photo above. When I first found out that we were having a boy, I was shocked! I was expecting to be having a girl. Greg didn't care what our baby was and he's excited either way. So it's been about a month since we found out and I have 4 more months to get used to the idea.

ABAGI

For those of you in the ABAGI family...originally AAG...I have nearly completed two new compilations. The first...or seventh...compilation carries on the tradition as established in the first 6 (AAG BYU 2002, AAG II, AAG Reunion, ABAG Changes, ABAGI Greg Got Married, ABAGI The Day Samantha Came). So far it's unnamed, but that shouldn't be long in coming. The second...or eighth...is a very special edition that I'm hoping you will all like, and is named ABAGI A.D.D.iction.

Both should arrive soon.
